Problem

Parent Possible desperately needing experienced leader well respected in Early Childhood Education to continue to drive their mission, all while retaining a highly valued culture within the organization. This was done on an accelerated timeline to help mitigate the lag time between the previous Executive Director and the new one. 

Solution

As with other impactful organizations, this process required input from many different stakeholders. In addition to the Board, we surveyed the sites that help make up the organization, to get their input on what they felt was important in a new leader. We also engaged the staff, both in initial discussion and throughout the interview process, to ensure they had a say in their future leader. After helping lay out objective criteria as well as objective ways to rate candidates in the various criteria, we sought out candidates in the Early Childhood Education space who could effectively fulfill this role, assessing their fit over the course of three interviews prior to sending them to the client. We facilitated multiple interviews with the client and also assessed the consensus discussions and objective evaluations of candidates.  

Results

Put forth multiple well-qualified candidates for the role. This allowed the client to consider the different strengths and possibilities each one brought. Multiple candidates could feasibly and effectively take on the role, and so it became a question of what direction the organization wanted to go in. The result was a candidate with the ability to help identify hidden paint points and optimize an already well-oiled machine.
